After changing direction, and a Masters degree in the Management of Intellectual Property from the University of London, he then qualified as a European and UK patent attorney with a large British patent attorney firm.

Daniel moved to Australia in 2001 and qualified as an Australian registered patent and trade mark attorney, working with a top tier patent attorney firm for most of his time in Australia.
