Michael Buck- Partner, Patent and Trade Mark Attorney

Michael Buck has been a registered Australian patent and trademark attorney since 1998. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering (1991) and Arts (philosophy and mathematics, 1987) from The University of Queensland and a Masters of Legal Studies (IP) from UTS.

Michael specialises in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for individual inventors, start-ups, international corporations, universities and research organisations. After graduation Michael initially worked as a computer programmer on parametric CAD applications before taking a position with an electronic communications engineering company. From 1994 to 1996 Michael was sole patents officer with Cochlear Limited.

 

Andy Mukherji- Partner, Patent Attorney

Andy is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney. He completed his PhD from The University of Queensland (2011) where he undertook research on photocatalysts. Andy is experienced in preparing patent applications specialising in the fields of mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, physics and general engineering.

Andy has worked on a wide variety of patent matters. The work that he has been involved in ranges from traditional materials and chemical technologies in the mining and metallurgy industries to emerging fields such as nanotechnology and bio-medical devices for small enterprises, research institutes and universities.

 

Angeline Behan- Head of Trademarks, Trademark Attorney

Angeline advises on all aspects of trademark law, and has been registered as a trademark attorney for over ten years. Angeline has a Bachelor of Law from QUT (1996) and a Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice (2002), and is Chair of the Queensland Law Society’s Technology and Intellectual Property Committee.

Angeline has worked for a broad range of clients. Over the course of her career she has assisted multinational corporations, statutory bodies such as councils, government departments e.g. Tourism Queensland, as well as small businesses and locally based individuals.

 

Mark Smith- Senior Associate, Patent Attorney

Mark Smith has been a registered Australian and New Zealand patent and trademark attorney since 2001. Mark has a degree in electrical engineering and is highly experienced in helping clients in the electrical, mechanical and general engineering fields.

Prior to entering the patent attorney profession, Mark worked as a patent examiner with IP Australia and subsequently worked again as a patent examiner between 2013-2017. Mark was a partner of Pizzeys Patent Attorneys for a number of years and has particular experience in assisting overseas attorneys and clients secure patent protection in Australia.
